Getting Started: The Basics of Honda Tuning Suite

Intro

Honda Tuning Suite (HTS for short) is packed full of wonderful and useful features regarding the manipulation of your OBD0, OBD1 and soon to be OBD2 Honda ECUs. With that being said, you will need an understanding of how a fuel injected vehicle operates, including having fundamental knowledge of what makes an engine run properly and more importantly; safely.

Downloading / Installing

If you haven’t already, download Honda Tuning Suite and extract the executable into its own folder (HTS creates some files required for it’s operation). Open the directory containing HTS and execute the executable. You’ll be greeted with Honda Tuning Suite.
NOTE: HTS requires Microsoft .NET 3.5 / 4!

Layout

A great place to begin, what is what?! It is highly encouraged that you click through all of the menus and drop downs considering there’s more than plenty to review in the heart of HTS. Up top we have our toolbar which holds various save and load controls as well as manipulation triggers. Below the toolbar and on the left hand side, we got all of our datalogging boxes that display various values from RPM to ECT to VTEC crossover to launch control trigger. Dead center we have our tables (and graphs if checkmarked). At the bottom, we have our live plot which gives us realtime view on what’s happening.

As well as having the tables, we also have our parameter tab which gives us all of our map options from injector calibration, to ECT / IAC timing and fuel correction, to rev settings, boost settings, VTEC settings, etc.
